Nature Days has also been undertaking INSET session on “Teaching science in primary using your outdoor space.” Support for non- subject specialist in teaching science at KS2 as well as foundation phase and integrating scientific enquiry into all aspects of the curriculum.

If your school would like ADDS training on using their school grounds for teaching science or any subject please contact Nature Days.

With the development of the Donaldson report into a new National Curriculum we hope to work with a number of pioneer schools to develop more creative field days to cover the four main purposes ready for 2020.

New field trips are being developed focusing on Numeracy Day and Literacy.

All field days are designed to meet the bespoke needs of your class and specific aspects of Numeracy and Literacy can be taught using the outdoors as the catalyst.

Foundation phase days are based on well used stories such as “Tiddler” and “Sally and the Limpet” on beach days, “Stick Man“,”The Gruffalo” and “The three little pigs” on woodland and river discovery days.

For Key Stage 2 we have inspirational days which allow the children to experience what it is like to be on a desert island like Michael in “Kensuke’s Kingdom“.

Take a walk down the “Journey to the River Sea” to explore our own temperate rainforest.
Numeracy days can be designed to incorporate problem solving, reasoning, coordinates, estimating, ratio and scale, measuring, creating and interpreting graphs.

If you would like to book a field trip for your school then contact Nature Days

All trips have now integrated the new Literacy and Numeracy framework, (LNF).

Our portfolio of field trips is growing as we are responding to requests by schools to create more varied field days.
